Good Evening Park 6 Families,
Mask Variance Update: The mask exemption request from the Park County Health Officer was received on Saturday making the wearing of masks in schools optional. We ask that all students, staff, and parents/ guardians be respectful of the choices others make regarding face coverings. Those who want to continue wearing masks are free to do so. Those that do not want to wear masks are free to take them off. Please be respectful of everyone's personal choice.
Masks will still need to be worn on school busses due to the Federal mandate for masks to be worn on public transportation. School busses are considered public transportation. Thank you all for your assistance with this.

Good Afternoon Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,
Do you know of a Park 6 Teacher that is constantly going above and beyond? Are they a leader in the school? Do they have a special way of reaching students?
Please consider nominating them for the 2022 District Teacher of the Year Award. This is open to all teachers with the district.
Once nominated, candidates will be asked to complete an application. Completed applications will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of a Park 6 administrator, a local business representative, a former teacher of the year recipient, a parent, a school board member, and a local state legislator.
The 2022 District Teacher of the Year will be announced in the fall of 2021.
Nominations must be received by Wednesday, April 14, 2021.
Online nomination form: https://forms.gle/epuMcdBVjZ52Xk1p9

As you know, the State of Wyoming is facing a significant funding deficit that could result in up to a 12% or $3.9M reduction in funding to Park 6. This will have a significant impact on every school districts’ ability to provide the educational “basket of goods and services” in the same manner as we have in the past. Our district leadership has provided recommendations to the Board of Trustees and tough decisions are being made at all levels. Our next step is to consider potential cuts to sports/activities.
As a district, we provide students with every athletic opportunity sanctioned by the WHSAA which is remarkable for a district our size. To that end, we are extending an invitation to the community, parents, and students to provide input to the Board the evening of April 12th, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm in the Cody Middle School Commons. A survey will go out to stakeholders after spring break to provide an additional opportunity for input regarding potential cuts to activities. NO decisions regarding cuts to sports/activities will be made until after public input has been received and considered.

The special board meeting is now live streaming.
