Dear CMS Family,
Tomorrow, October 14, we will run our 1st Late Start Schedule! Doors open at 7:50 am; classes start at 8:20 am. This will NOT impact district transportation in any way. Students are welcome to show up anytime between 7:50 - 8:20 am. Staff will provide supervision for students arriving before 8:20.
This Late Start Schedule will provide time for CMS Staff to meet as professional learning communities (PLCs). PLCs are, "An ongoing process in which educators work together collaboratively in recurring cycles of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students they serve. ” In the PLC process CMS staff will analyze a wide array of student data and scores, create targeted lessons to improve student learning and growth, as well as devise plans to increase student achievement and performance. PLCs are directly linked to Collective Teacher Efficacy which research has shown has the largest effect size on student achievement.
