Cody Middle School continues its winning streak in being awarded technology grants! For the second year in a row, Cody Middle School was awarded a grant from the Wyoming Trust Fund, which funds technology advancement and equipment purchases to benefit students in the classroom. In 2018-19, CMS was awarded approximately $33,000 to purchase laptops, 3D printers, and a CNC machine for our STEM lab. This grant was authored by Mr. Conaway, our STEM teacher. For the 2019-20 school year, CMS has been awarded $20,348.09 for our Computer Science Lab, which was authored by Mrs. Denning, our Computer Science teacher. This award was not the full amount of the request, but CMS will partially match the grant and provide approximately $7300 to ensure all the equipment that was requested will be purchased. Some of the equipment, which will continue to assist in pushing our students into new learning, is:
5 Upgrade Mac Desktops, which are capable of handling extremely high quality video production and 3D graphics rendering.
A Stereolithography High Resolution 3D printer capable of printing very fine resolution 3D objects.
An assortment of Video and Audio Production Equipment.
We appreciate so much the tireless work that Mrs. Denning and Mr. Conaway continue to put into their programs. We look forward to the opportunities that these grants have and will give to our students as they prepare for the jobs and careers that we haven’t even imagined yet.
