Congratulations to Cheyann Morris for being selected the Bus Rider of the month! Cheyann is a great help in managing younger riders on the bus. So much so that last year she became a volunteer bus aid! We are so fortunate to have riders like Cheyann. Give her a big round of applause when you see her out and about!

Parents, staff and students! We continue to work with Park County Public Health as we have more active COVID-19 cases in our student population at CHS. When a positive test result is reported to public health, a local/state public health official will contact the student or their parent to complete an investigation and gather the following information: 1. School, grade, classroom, and activities for student. 2. Symptoms and symptom onset date. 3. Underlying health conditions. 4. Close contacts (within 6 feet and no mask for 15 min. or more). 5. Date of last contact with the person with COVID-19. 6. Any other relevant information to public health. Public Health will order either isolation or quarantine. The school district will NOT make that decision, nor advise students to stay home. Our school nurses will send students home if they come to school with symptoms. Parents, please ensure that you have contacted the building principal if public health has ordered isolation or quarantine of your student. Students will need to be in touch with their teachers for immediate access to remote classes. In order to keep our schools open, we are appealing to all of you to use caution when in crowds (masks and social distancing). Masks and clean hands are critical to our keeping the school buildings open and educating our students in person. This is not an invitation to debate the efficacy of masks. It takes a village! PLEASE HELP US OUT!

From Superintendent Monteith ~ First Positive COVID-19 Case As expected, we had our first positive case of COVID-19. Our partners at Public Health contacted the school immediately and followed up with contact tracing. Within a few hours it was determined that no other students or staff would be required to quarantine. Our implementation of mask wearing and social distancing is working! Thank you to our partners in Public Health! Thank you to students, staff and parents for your support in adhering to our plan! Because of your efforts our schools will stay open!!

Free meals for all children! Yes, you absolutely read that correctly. The school nutrition department, in efforts to make sure food is available to all children, has opted to feed all children for free until Winter Break or until funds run out. In order to make this sustainable we need everyone to fill out a free and reduced form, please. https://family.titank12.com/application/new?identifier=HHCG2A Funding for schools depends on our free and reduced percentage, this happens to be the time of year when we collect and submit this information to the state. This move will have an impact on a la carte sales, they will have to cease. This means we will no longer be able to sell individual milk, extra entrees, and adult meals. I hope you can all view this as a small convenience to give up for the greater good for this short term period. Make sure your student signs up each day during morning attendance to take advantage of these meals. Be sure to watch for updates about curbside pick-ups!
