Good Afternoon Park 6 Families,
Park County School District #6 has become aware of a troubling post that has been shared widely this week on the social media platform, TikTok. The post refers to inciting school violence, including gun violence and is now spreading to multiple social media platforms. Language in these posts include, “for every school in the USA, even elementary,” on “Friday, December 17.”
We take any possible threat to school safety seriously and are closely monitoring the situation.
The post appears to be part of a national TikTok trend and did not originate in our school district. We have heard reports from other districts that the same post is circulating in their schools.
Additionally, the district has been in contact with the Cody Police Department regarding the post. We will have an increased police presence in our buildings on Friday as an added precaution.
This situation serves as a good example of why it is important to avoid sharing posts online that refer to school safety/ threats. Even if they are not credible threats, they can cause a great deal of stress and anxiety for our students, families, and staff. We ask our families to monitor their children’s social media activity. Please speak with your students about proper behavior online and the severity and repercussions of sharing threats of this nature.
If you or your child become aware of any potential threat posted to social media or anywhere else, please notify a school staff member or trusted adult immediately.
As always, thank you for your partnership as we work to ensure a safe, secure, and positive learning environment for our students.
Sincerely,
Tim Foley
Interim Superintendent

Good Evening, This is a reminder as we begin the school week - With our new quarantine protocols, the best way to keep your student in school is by wearing a mask. This will allow your student to remain in school if he/she is exposed and is asymptomatic. Please consider having your child voluntarily wear a mask during this period of increasing Covid cases and quarantines. Thank you, PCSD 6
Hello Park 6 Families, I hope you have had an enjoyable summer and found time to relax and be with friends and family. Last week I sent out information regarding our safe return to school. Today I am providing an update to the information that was previously sent. The main change is that we will be recommending but not requiring masks on school buses; masks will be available for students to use.
The decision has been made that we will return to school as we ended school in May.
+ Masks will be recommended but not required. We believe everyone has a personal choice and those choices must be respected.
+ Park 6 will continue to work with the Park County Public Health Officer and our local healthcare leaders.
+ We will strive to maintain social distancing of 3-6 feet when possible.
Cleaning protocols will be maintained at the level of the 2020-2021 school year.
+ Masks will be recommended but not required while traveling on school busses, this will include travel to sporting events and activities.
The first day for students will be Wednesday, August 25.
