Dear Park County School District 6 Families,
As we begin the 2025 school year, Park 6 reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our students, staff, and schools. Our comprehensive safety protocols, plans, and procedures are designed to maintain a secure learning environment where positive rapport and healthy relationships can flourish. These include:
Robust cyber security measures
Controlled entryways into schools
Presence of a dedicated School Resource Officer
Rule CKA for concealed carry
Regular fire drills
Regular “secure the perimeter” and “lockdown” drills
Safety training
We want to remind parents of critical procedures during a lockdown. If a lockdown is initiated at one or more Park 6 schools, please do not approach the school or its property. Law enforcement will take control of the crisis. All external doors will remain locked to restrict access. These measures are essential to ensure everyone’s safety.
We are thankful for the collaboration from Sheriff Steward, the Park County Sheriff’s Office, the Cody Police Department, and Chief Stafford.

Thank you for being so supportive in keeping Park 6 a safe and secure place for learning.

Proud Superintendent
